Everyone is looking for ways to live longer and better for as long as humanity has existed. There are foods which won’t take the years away, but they will help you look younger.
Eggs
Eggs are a great source of protein. They also contain a high level of antioxidants which can help protect your skin from sun damage, thus cutting back on wrinkles and blemishes.
Brightly Colored Vegetables
Believe it or not, a recent study has shown that people who eat more fruits and vegetables are actually more attractive. The reason, scientists believe, is the carotenoids found in produce, the substance that creates those bright colors, especially yellow and orange. These help improve the appearance of the skin.
Soy
Soy has proven to be one of those “super foods.” A Japanese study a few years ago found that middle-aged women who consumed the equivalent of three ounces of soy everyday for 12 weeks saw considerable improvements in not only wrinkles, but in skin firmness.
Coconut Oil
Throw out that expensive skin cream and stock up on coconut oil. Not only can you cook with it, but scientists have found it is more effective at treating dry, flaky skin than mineral oil, the principle ingredient in most moisturizers. Dermatologists say the oil has anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent option for people with skin conditions like eczema. The high lipid content means it keeps moisture in and dryness out.
Chocolate
Finally, we’re all happy about this one. Scientists keep finding more benefits from this magical substance. Not only is chocolate good for your heart, can protect you from heart attacks and strokes, but compounds found in chocolate may prevent you from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Research shows people who consumed a daily dose of three ounces of chocolate led to smoother skin. They theorize that the anti-inflammatory agents in the sweet help increase blood flow to the skin.
